I wanted to go back to RSS. For news, sure, but mostly for independent blogs: ordinary lives, written honestly, without a big hook.
Choosing a reader started taking as much time as making one. So I made Panda Reader. I can change it whenever I like. That’s the whole advantage.
It won’t suit everyone. Use it, change it, fork it. That’s why it’s open source.
